An Instant Message is triggered immediately after a user sends their first message to your MisterChatter agent. It acts as a quick acknowledgment that their request has been received and reassures them that help is on the way. Done well, Instant Messages reduce uncertainty and set the stage for a positive conversation.
Why the Instant Message Matters #
- Builds confidence by letting users know their message has been seen right away.
- Reduces friction by making users feel they don’t need to repeat themselves.
- Improves onboarding by creating a smoother, friendlier start to the conversation.
When It Appears #
The Instant Message is sent automatically as soon as the user sends their very first message to your agent.
Key Details #
- Keep it short and clear so the user isn’t overwhelmed.
- Friendly tone works best since it reassures the user they are being taken care of.
- No HTML support Instant Messages cannot include formatted text or links.
How to Add an Instant Message in MisterChatter #
- Go to MC Intelligence → MC Messages → Instant Message → Add.

We’ll be right with you.
Best Practices #
- Be human: Write in a warm, conversational tone rather than sounding robotic.
- Set expectations: Let users know what will happen next (e.g., “We’ll be right with you”).
- Stay concise: Two short sentences are usually enough.
- Avoid overpromising: Don’t make guarantees your agent or team can’t keep.
