In MisterChatter, messages are the foundation of how your agent communicates with users. There are three main types of messages, each appearing at a different stage of the conversation. Together, they help you welcome users, reassure them, and keep the conversation flowing naturally.
1 Start Message
#
The Start Message is the very first interaction a user has with your agent. It acts like a welcome handshake that introduces your brand, sets expectations, and guides the user toward the next step. A well-crafted Start Message builds trust and creates a strong first impression.
2 Instant Message
#
An Instant Message is sent immediately after a user’s first message. It works as a quick acknowledgment that their message was received and that help is on the way. Keeping it short and friendly reassures users and reduces uncertainty at the start of the conversation.
3 Conversation Starter Message
#
The Conversation Starter Message appears after a short delay, usually around 10 minutes. Its goal is to re-engage the user by asking a question or suggesting a next step. It helps move passive engagement into an active conversation, ensuring discussions stay productive and on track.
In the next sections, you will learn how to create, edit, and optimize each type of message inside the Message Editor.
